Charlotte Bourgeois currently serves as Executive Director of LAAHP. From 2006 though 2009, she was Chief Operating Officer for Providence Community Housing, a non-profit housing developer in New Orleans. Providence was formed shortly after the storm with the goal of bringing home 20,000 victims of Katrina by rebuilding and/or developing 7,000 homes and apartments over the next 5 years. From 2002 to 2006, Bourgeois worked as a Consultant providing management services to non-profit agencies. For Catholic Charities and UJAMAA CDC, she spearheaded the conversion of the former St. Cecelia Church and Rectory into the first PACE (Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) Center in Louisiana. She also assisted the Tulane/Canal Neighborhood Development Corporation in developing housing for first-time home buyers.
Prior to her work as an independent consultant, Bourgeois served as Sr. Vice President for Planning and Development for Willwoods Community. Over 7 years, she managed the development and construction of many residences for senior citizens, including the Malta Park Assisted Living Residence, the first assisted living facility in New Orleans. Other senior residency projects at Willwoods included Malta Square at Sacred Heart, Malta Court at Holy Angels, and St. Ann Apartments at Ujamaa Square. She also has worked as Treasurer of St. Mary’s Dominican High School and Director of Administration for Covenant House New Orleans.
